Smorgasbord breakfasts are served in hotel restaurants after 7:00 AM.  Noon meals (dinners) are scheduled for 1:00 pm. Evening meals (suppers) are scheduled for 7:00 pm.

 

Day 1    

Air Travel: From home airports to Toronto - to Warsaw - to Lviv in Ukraine.

 

Day 2  

UKRAINE!

Welcome supper in the hotel Dining Room

Day 3

LVIV

City excursion by bus........ High Castle Park Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site). 

Excursion by foot Prospect Svobody (Freedom Boulevard).  

Shopping:  Vernisage ... Market and Artisan Bazaar.

 

Day 4

LVIV  

Bus ride to St. George's Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cathedral (Sobor) and to Shevchenkivsky Park: original & restored heritage buildings from 9 ethnographic areas of Ukraine, including original and active Lemko church.

Day 5

HALYCHYNA

Visit school in Village of Bakivtsi and talk with students learning the English language.

Travel to IVANO-FRANKIVSK.

Special Presentation: The Hutsul Dancers.

 

Day 6

KOLOMEYIA

Travel to Kolomeyia.

Guided Tours of world-renowned Historical Hutsul and Pysanka Museums.

 

Day 7

IVANO-FRANKIVSK

Walking tour of Ivano-Frankivsk’s City Centre

Travel to “Roman Fabryka’s Ukrainian Trades Museum

Entertainment by Ivano-Frankivskʼs Heritage Assocation.

 

Day 8

YARMECHE and the CARPATHIAN MOUNTAINS

On to Yaremche and check-in to RESORT-HOTEL. Resort-hotel has swimming pool, sauna, massage, billiards or Walk to the River-Prut tourist-friendly kiosks

 

Day 9

HUTSULSCHYNA and THE HUTSULS

Explore Bukovel. Ride the ski chair lift for breathtaking views (weather permitting)

Day 10          

BAZAARS, KIOSKS AND FARM VISIT

Visit Yaremcheʼs 1-11 school in Carpathian mountains: meet and talk with the students.

On to Chernivitsi...stop at “Stork Alley” and visit “Life in a Village”.

Excursion of a free-enterprise and privately owned and operated farm.

 

Day 11          

CHERNIVTSI in BUKOVYNA

City Excursion: Historical Sites and Architectural wonders of Old Chernivitsi

Chernivitsi University (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Bukovyna Diaspora Museum.

 

Day 12

KHOTYN AND KAMIENETZ-PODILSKY

Travel to and explore Fort Khotyn.

Travel to Kamienetz-Podilsky.

Explore Fort Kamienetz-Podilsky (UNESCO Heritage Site).

Travel through “Old Town” (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

 

Day 13

TRAVEL across PODILLIA and POLISSIA to KYIV

Enroute enjoy dinner in a roadside restaurant.

 

Day 14

KYIV

City Excursion: Taras Shevchenko Park; St. Volodomyrʼs Cathedral; University of Kyiv; Golden Gates; St. Sofia Cathedral and Square; St. Michaelʼs of the Golden Domes; Holodomyr Memorial; Peace Rainbow; Parliament Building.

MONUMENTS:  Founders; St. Volodomyr; Khmelnitsky; Shevchenko

Guided Tour Chernobyl Museum

Independence Square and Khreshchatyk Vulytsia

 

 

Day 15

KYIV

Pecharska Lavra: Largest monastery in Ukraine (UNESCO Heritage Site).

Pecharskaʼs Burial Caves OR Museum of Historical Gold Treasures.

Shop for souvenirs at the outdoor kiosks at St. Andrewʼs Descent.

 

Day 16

HOMEWARD BOUND

After breakfast... check-out of hotel.  Board bus for airport

Air travel: From Kyiv to Warsaw ....and to home airports.
